Do you want to catch up on Strange New Worlds but not watch all 40 episodes?

Here is a list of the Top 10 episodes of Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, according to IMDB raters, in chronological order. One bonus episode concludes a season cliffhanger.

Analyzing 52 seasons of Star Trek series to find the best and worst, according to IMDB users, at least.

Worf in Picard seems true to this quote from the very first Worf-focused episode, “Heart of Glory”: “The true test of a warrior is not without, it is within.”

Here are ten Star Trek podcasts I enjoy.

The first drafts of—“Space… the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise, its five-year mission: to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no man has gone before.”

The logical follow-up to my lists of top filk and found-filk songs is a set of songs with Star Trek references. Some of these are just in passing (“Space may be the final frontier, but it’s made in a Hollywood basement,” from “Californication”) while others are integral: the Leonard Nimoy sample from “What’s On Your Mind (Pure Energy)”—can you even read “Pure Energy” without hearing it in Nimoy’s voice?!

The current IMDB ratings, including the top 3 episodes (the last four of the arc of Paul Giamatti’s villain). Bonus: The 10 Worst Episodes of Star Trek All Time (where one SFA episode has been unfairly consigned).

Voyage of the Marigold, by Andrew Stephens, is an interesting twist on classic Trek games. Like the first Trek, in Voyage of the Marigold you’re exploring a grid, but—in contrast—you’re encountering strange new worlds and anomalies as you explore, and you responding to choice prompts rather than using a command menu.

Near the end of my watch-through of the top 100 episodes of Star Trek, I got to the Star Trek: Prodigy series. I decided to expand from the eight episodes that made the top 100 and watch the top 10ish Prodigy episodes.

Warp Your Own Way, by Ryan North and Chris Fenoglio, became the first interactive fiction to ever win a Hugo Award!

Hypothesis: The first IMDB ratings are by the biggest fans and therefore represent the peak rating, with stable ratings being lower as non-fans eventually catch up and watch something. I look at Section 31 ratings and Season 5 Lower Deck ratings to prove the hypothesis in that context.

Originally pitched as a prequel, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds now has to be conceived of as a reboot on an alternate timeline, based on its own changes to the timeline and to the development of its characters. Nor should this be a surprise. The future of the 1960s show didn’t quite pan out.

I really enjoy the premise of Enterprise: the first human deep space explorers using the first warp-five starship. It’s a fun era of Star Trek, and they handle many aspects of being a prequel right, even if they went against fan expectations. I get why people think it is one of the worst Treks and don’t want to watch all of it, but I wanted to curate the best episodes.
